HEP bulletin - November 2025

Registration and attendance confirmations

Thank you for your timely return of registration and attendance confirmations. We've noted an improvement in results for academic year (AY) 2025/26.

Please keep prioritising outstanding registration or attendance confirmations for AY 2025/26 courses. You should follow up all registrations with an appropriate attendance confirmation.

Make sure to submit an 'N' (not registered) or another appropriate attendance code for students who've not enrolled. You should also clear your Change of Circumstance (CoC) worklists.

Please also check your registration and attendance worklists for previous years' outstanding confirmations. If reassessment details are correct, you should reconfirm attendance in acceptance of the changes made. This will let us release payments or recover overpayments. If the details are not correct, please contact our Partners Support Desk to change this.

Fee limits for part time undergraduate foundation year courses

Please make sure that tuition fees for students on the foundation year of a part time undergraduate course are correct. Guidance on new regulations is available on GOV.UK.

Guidance for courses that meet the lower fee limit is available on the HEP Services website.

Course collection for AY 2026/27

Course collection for AY 2026/27 will open in January 2026. Please begin any necessary work now to make sure you have all information ready for data entry.

Courses Management Service (CMS) webinar

We'll deliver this year’s CMS webinar and Q&A on Tuesday 16 December. Two broadcast times are available on that date.

The webinar will focus on the HE student finance eligibility requirements. We'll only include minimal reference to the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.

You can register for the CMS webinar through the Student Loans Events website.

Postgraduate Masters (PGM) course duration reminder

We’ve received an increase in queries about PGM course durations, particularly for part-time courses.
Please note:
  • Flexible courses are not eligible for funding

  • Courses must meet designation requirements as outlined in the official guidance

  • For part-time versions of full-time courses in England, the duration must be no more than twice the full-time equivalent

For full details, please refer to the HEP Services Guidance on PGM Course Designation.
