SFE full-time undergraduate applications are now open for academic year 2025/26
New and continuing full time undergraduate students from England can now apply for student finance.
Please encourage your students to apply now to make sure that their funding is in place for the start of their course.
If they apply now, they can make sure their application receives approval on time.
Please direct your students to our student toolkit and student timeline to make sure they're prepared to apply.
Main changes
Tuition fees across the country will increase from August 2025. Therefore, the tuition fee loan amount that a student can apply for has increased.
This means that for academic year 2025/26:
- maximum full time course tuition fee loans have increased to £9,535
- maximum accelerated degree course tuition fee loans have increased to £11,440
- maximum part time course tuition fee loans have increased to £7,145
Tuition fees have also changed for foundation years. Universities and colleges will now charge students £5,760 if they’re studying a classroom based subject or up to £9,535 if the course is not strictly classroom based.
Welsh and Northern Irish full time undergraduate students will be able to apply later in March. Scottish students for all courses can apply to SAAS during the first week of April.
