AY 18/19 PT Undergraduate Course Collection now available

26 February 2018

The Courses Management System (CMS) is now available for all publicly funded, Higher Education Providers within England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to commence their AY 18/19 part-time undergraduate course submission.

All open part-time courses in CMS for AY 17/18 are now presented under the AY 18/19 tab ready to be saved. Providers should aim to have course submissions complete by 27th April 2018.

We also invite all SCITTS to commence course submission at this time.

At this point we are not collecting AY 18/19 postgraduate courses. Further details on when these courses can be submitted will follow in due course.

Submitting your courses

A link to the CMS Service Definition document and the CMS Guidance Document can be found here.

Please note:

  • From AY 18/19 we require you to submit one year's worth of term dates (start and end dates for three terms). Please ensure, where applicable, that there is an appropriate break between terms ending and starting. Further information can be found on page 17 of the CMS Guidance document.
  • Providers must confirm the total number of credits that the student intends to complete. The number of course credits to be entered against each part-time course should be the total number of credits for the whole course rather than an individual course year. Further information can be found on page 14 of the CMS Guidance document.

Providers that have been successful in meeting the eligibility requirements for participation in TEF will see their provider fee cap for AY 18/19 has been amended accordingly. The 'user preference' functionality in CMS has been enhanced to retain course fee information as you save your courses to prevent manual entry of any different fee rates for individual course years.

Providers are requested to update their courses individually for AY 18/19 in order to protect the integrity of course information added to CMS in the previous academic year. SLC will continue to build on and enhance the service to enable all providers to update their course catalogue as efficiently and accurately as possible going forward.

The service can be accessed through the HE Portal hosted on the HEP Services website via the following link: courses.slc.co.uk.
